Saturday's are busy days for Brig and I; I get things done at the house and Brigham normally works all day. I was super surprised when I saw that he finally had a Saturday off! YAY! Pretty sure he has only had a Saturday off mayyyybe 6 times in the 7 months I have known him... we take advantage of these free Saturdays! Well this day started off a little late, due to my brain and terrible scheduling, so we were an hour behind schedule. I HAD to get my eyelashes done so I had Brig run and grab stuff we had to take to his mom's for the party, while I went to get pretty. I finally get home, only having 30 minutes to do my hair and get dressed, I am yelling from the next room for Brig to turn off the TV and help me out. Everything I asked him to do he replied with a "I already took care of that." I was shocked.. what happened to my husband? He even told me that he picked up 3 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for us to take for the drive and then continued saying how he gave one away to a homeless man. I was speechless. I really wanted to know who this man was that was standing in front of me. Not that he never does any good to this world, but Brig does better when he has a list of things to do. I was just so happy. It was 10:30 and my husband already conquered the world, while I was still in my pj's (with beautiful eyelashes). So we quickly got in the car and drove the 45 minutes to Virden. We arrived with many other family members to celebrate Grandma Tedford's birthday! It was fun to meet cousins and uncles and aunts that I have not met yet. But most importantly it was just nice to be with his family. Our schedule is normally full of work, so we do not get to go down there too often. We ate, listened to some entertainment, rode four wheelers, and just walk around the place. Virden is small and is basically only dirt. BUT it is the perfect place for kids to play and for family to get together. We left around 3 and headed back to Thatcher. We made a quick stop the the gas station and grabbed a few bottles of Coke for our way home... yummmmm! I love road trips no matter how quick they are! It was just so fun to sit in a car with my husband and talk about our future!
As brig finished his Coke, he started pulling over onto the side of the road. I figured he just had to pee, but next thing I know he is pulling our his rifle. We placed out bottles a ways away from the road, onto a fence. Brig got up and shot his bottle on the first shot. He then hands me the gun and expects me to miss.... does he not know who my dad is? I am the queen of shooting things! I get up and shot the tip of the bottle in the first shot, then shot the middle part right after, and then quickly shot the last tiny piece. Brig was shocked and possible a little scared! I felt pretty cool, I won't lie. We got back on the road and continued on our ride home. We got back into town and decided we wanted to take a little more advantage of this free Saturday so we went and bought paint for our bathroom. Painted that whole thing! We love it! Stayed up till 2 A.M. watching Nashville and then finally decided to go to sleep! I love days like these. Getting my eyelashes done by my amazing sister-in-law is like a therapy session. It is just nice to be able to talk about anything, I always walk out appreciating my husband more! This day was just such a nice day to sit back and realize how many amazing people I have in my life. I love my life. I love my family. I love his family. I love my husband. I love being a wife. The list could go on! Being a wife is not always rewarding.. but days like theses makes it so rewarding. The life of a wife could not get any better!
